ÔDÔRAI : A Smart Scent System | WIP
An AI-driven ambient system that senses, synchronizes, and responds.
ÔDÔRAI is a smart scent infrastructure that bridges behavioral data and atmospheric control. Built as a modular platform of responsive furniture, scent devices, and real-time interfaces, it transforms everyday environments into emotionally adaptive spaces. The system reads signals—heart rate, posture, speech—and choreographs scent, airflow, and light to create dynamic moodscapes.
This project reimagines home technology as an empathetic ecosystem, where scent becomes a communication layer between users and space. No screens, no taps—just presence and response.
ÔDÔRAI turns interior design into interaction design. It proposes a new UX layer: one made of fragrance, rhythm, and feeling.

The Challenge: As remote work becomes the norm, users struggle to maintain healthy psychological boundaries between work, rest, and leisure within a single living space, leading to increased stress and decreased productivity. Existing smart home ecosystems primarily focus on visual and auditory feedback, neglecting the profound, subconscious impact of scent on mood and focus.
My Role & Approach: I served as the sole Product Architect and Designer, integrating AI, multi-sensory hardware, and physical fabrication to pioneer an “Environment-as-a-Service” platform centered on emotional well-being and Zero-UI interaction.

Tester Data Collect and Analysis
Research & Insights: My research into environmental psychology confirmed the powerful link between scent and cognition, with studies indicating specific scents can reduce stress by up to 20%. Ansys simulations of airflow and scent dispersion led to a key insight: a truly intelligent environment must sense implicit user data—like heart rate and posture—and respond through ambient, non-intrusive means.

Design & Prototyping: I designed and engineered ÔDÔRAI, an AI-driven, modular system featuring: 1) responsive furniture with embedded pressure sensors; 2) smart, programmable scent diffusers; and 3) a central hub on a Raspberry Pi using OpenCV and custom emotion-detection algorithms to orchestrate the experience.

Testing & Iteration: In simulated high-stress work and deep-focus scenarios, the system demonstrated a 15% measured increase in user focus. Iterative physical prototyping, using 3D printing and laser cutting, was critical for refining the hardware and ensuring seamless integration between the system’s modules.
Outcome & Impact: The project successfully transforms a static interior into a dynamic, interactive experience. This platform not only charts a new path for Health Tech but also provides a clear blueprint for how a product like Google Home could evolve with an empathetic, sensory dimension, fundamentally enhancing user well-being through AI.
