Yves Chen is a creative technologist and interactive system designer based in Los Angeles, recently graduated with a Master of Science in Architectural Technologies from SCI-Arc (Southern California Institute of Architecture). With a background in architecture and a focus on multisensory experience design, his work merges AI, scent technology, and spatial computing to craft emotionally responsive environments.

His graduate thesis project, ÔDÔRAI, is an AI-powered scent system embedded in smart furniture that adapts in real time to users’ posture, emotion, and behavior. The project demonstrates how olfactory interfaces can enrich spatial perception and interaction, positioning scent as a core medium within intelligent environments.

Chen’s interdisciplinary design approach bridges architecture, human-computer interaction, and sensory UX, with technical proficiency in platforms such as Raspberry Pi, Grasshopper, Unreal Engine, and sensor-integrated prototyping. He is passionate about building systems that connect emotion, behavior, and technology into meaningful spatial experiences.
